FACILITIES & HEALTH & SAFETY SUPERVISOR

**Role Purpose** The Facilities \& Health \& Safety Supervisor is responsible for supporting the safe, efficient and reliable day\-to\-day operation of the Ras Al Ardh facility. The role will oversee the condition, cleanliness, functionality and safety of the club environment while ensuring that facilities, equipment, contractors and operational activities meet the required standards. The Supervisor will be highly visible and hands\-on, identifying issues before they affect members and ensuring that corrective action is taken quickly. The role will also support the development and implementation of the club’s Health \& Safety framework, ensuring that employees, contractors, members and guests operate within a safe environment. **1\. Facilities Operations** · Oversee the day\-to\-day condition of the entire club. · Conduct regular inspections of all member and back\-of\-house areas. · Identify defects, maintenance issues and potential hazards. · Ensure issues are logged, prioritised and followed through to completion. · Coordinate planned and reactive maintenance. · Monitor critical building systems. · Ensure facilities remain operational throughout club opening hours. · Escalate major faults immediately. · Maintain accurate facilities records. **Areas should include:** · Reception and public areas. · Changing rooms. · Fitness areas. · Group Exercise studios. · Spa. · Crèche. · Kids’ and activities areas. · Offices. · Staff areas. · Plant rooms. · Storage areas. · External areas. · Car parking and access areas where applicable. **2\. Preventative Maintenance** · Maintain the preventative maintenance schedule. · Ensure planned maintenance is completed on time. · Monitor recurring faults and identify root causes. · Coordinate maintenance contractors. · Maintain records of servicing and inspections. · Ensure critical equipment is maintained according to manufacturer requirements. · Escalate equipment requiring replacement or major repair. · Support the Facilities/Operations Manager with annual maintenance planning. **3\. Health \& Safety** · Support the implementation of the Ras Al Ardh Health \& Safety programme. · Conduct regular health and safety inspections. · Identify hazards and implement corrective actions. · Maintain appropriate risk assessments. · Ensure safe working practices are followed. · Monitor staff compliance with health and safety procedures. · Ensure appropriate signage and safety notices are displayed. · Support emergency preparedness. · Report significant safety concerns immediately to management. **4\. Emergency Preparedness** · Ensure the club is prepared to respond effectively to emergencies, including: **Emergency scenarios:** · Fire. · Medical emergencies. · Evacuation. · Power failure. · Water leaks/flooding. · Equipment failure. · Security incidents. · Severe weather where applicable. · Other facility\-related emergencies. **5\. Fire Safety** · Support regular fire safety inspections. · Ensure fire extinguishers and related equipment are accessible and appropriately maintained. · Ensure fire exits remain clear. · Check emergency lighting and signage as required. · Support fire drills. · Maintain appropriate inspection records. · Escalate any fire safety concerns immediately. · Ensure staff understand evacuation procedures. **6\. Water Hygiene \& Environmental Standards** · Support appropriate monitoring of water systems, showers, pools/spas where applicable, temperature controls, water quality requirements, Legionella prevention controls where applicable, ventilation, air conditioning, humidity and general environmental conditions. · Ensure required testing, servicing and records are maintained in accordance with applicable Kuwait requirements and recognised best practice. **7\. Contractor Management** · Coordinate facilities and maintenance contractors. · Ensure contractors sign in and comply with club procedures. · Verify appropriate permits and documentation where required. · Ensure contractors work safely within member areas. · Monitor contractor performance. · Ensure work areas are left clean and safe. · Maintain contractor records. · Escalate poor performance or unsafe practices. · Support contractor reviews and performance management. **8\. Cleaning \& Environmental Standards** · Work closely with Housekeeping and operational teams to maintain exceptional club standards. · Conduct regular cleanliness inspections. · Identify areas requiring attention. · Monitor changing rooms and high\-traffic areas. · Monitor waste management. · Ensure cleaning equipment is maintained. · Ensure cleaning chemicals are appropriately stored. · Ensure chemical handling procedures are followed. · Report recurring cleanliness or maintenance issues. **Standard:** · The objective is for the club to remain inspection\-ready at all times. **9\. Member Safety \& Experience** · Although primarily a facilities role, the Supervisor must remain highly member\-focused. · Identify potential hazards before they affect members. · Respond quickly to facility\-related member concerns. · Communicate appropriately when maintenance affects member areas. · Minimise disruption to members. · Coordinate repairs around peak operating periods wherever possible. · Monitor the condition of facilities from a member perspective. **Member\-first standard:** · If a member can see it, hear it, smell it or be affected by it, it matters. **10\. Incident Management** · Ensure accidents and incidents are reported promptly. · Secure areas where necessary. · Support initial investigations. · Record relevant information accurately. · Identify immediate and underlying causes. · Recommend corrective action. · Track actions through to completion. · Monitor recurring incidents and trends. · Escalate serious incidents to the General Manager. **11\. Risk Assessments** · Support the creation and review of risk assessments. · Ensure risk assessments are relevant to actual club operations. · Review assessments following incidents, changes or new activities. · Ensure relevant employees understand required controls. · Maintain appropriate documentation. **Risk assessments should cover areas including:** · Gym and fitness equipment. · Group Exercise. · Spa. · Crèche. · Children’s activities. · Swimming/wet areas where applicable. · Manual handling. · Chemicals. · Maintenance activities. · Contractors. · Events. · Emergency procedures. **12\. Staff Training \& Awareness** · Support delivery of Health \& Safety training. · Ensure employees understand emergency procedures. · Support induction for new employees. · Maintain training records. · Conduct regular safety briefings. · Encourage a proactive safety culture. · Challenge unsafe practices immediately. **13\. Energy \& Sustainability** · Support the club’s approach to efficient facility operation by monitoring electricity usage, water consumption, HVAC efficiency, lighting, equipment operating hours and waste. · Support recycling initiatives where applicable. · Identify opportunities to reduce unnecessary operational costs without compromising the member experience.
