Job description

The Estimation Manager is responsible for leading and managing the end-to-end estimation process for high-rise, Villas, mixed-use and infrastructure projects. This includes reviewing project drawings and specifications, coordinating with internal departments, managing vendor and subcontractor pricing and ensuring timely and accurate preparation of cost estimates, BOQs and tender submissions. The role is key to supporting business growth through competitive pricing strategies and cost optimization. • Oversee the preparation of accurate cost estimates and BOQs based on project drawings, scope, and specifications. • Review and validate quantity take-offs, cost inputs, and rate analysis prepared by the estimation team. • Ensure timely submission of tender documentation in alignment with client requirements. • Manage internal estimation databases and maintain updated unit rates, productivity norms, and cost benchmarks. • Lead the preparation of competitive tender document , including technical and commercial components. • Coordinate with design, planning, and procurement teams to gather relevant data. • Analyse tender documents, identify risks, and suggest pricing strategies. • Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of estimation engineers and quantity surveyors. • Review team output for quality, accuracy, and completeness. • Support knowledge sharing and technical skill development within the department. • Provide regular reports on estimate accuracy, budget alignment, tender success rate, and cost trends. • Ensure adherence to internal SOPs, company policies, and audit requirements. • Participate in post-tender negotiations and handover of awarded projects to execution teams. Internal: • Estimation & Commercial Team • Planning, Procurement, and Design Teams • Quantity Surveying and Project Execution Teams • Finance and Legal Departments External: • Vendors and Suppliers • Subcontractors • Consultants and Client Representatives The Estimation Manager works with a high level of autonomy and is accountable for the accuracy and timeliness of all estimates and tender submissions. While final approvals for bid submissions rest with senior management, the Estimation Manager has authority to lead estimation planning, coordinate with stakeholders, recommend pricing strategies and make technical and commercial recommendations. • Bachelor’s degree in civil / mechanical / electrical engineering • Postgraduate qualification in Construction Management or Quantity Surveying is preferred • 10–12 years of relevant experience in estimation, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial role. • Strong exposure to high-rise, Villas, infrastructure, or large-scale construction projects • 5 to 10 Mandatory experience in UAE in similar role. SKILLS • Expertise in cost estimation, BOQ preparation, and tendering processes • Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and market pricing • Proficiency in estimation software (e.g., Candy, CostX, Excel) • Strong negotiation and analytical skills • Excellent leadership, coordination, and communication abilities • Detail-oriented with high accuracy in quantity and cost computations
