We are seeking a driven and capable Electrical Engineer / Electrical Operations Subject Matter Expert to support mission-critical data center projects in KSA. This role will provide technical expertise across electrical design review, commissioning, operational readiness, and facility operations for complex data center environments. The ideal candidate has strong direct data center experience and a deep understanding of critical electrical infrastructure supporting Tier III and Tier IV facilities. The candidate should be capable of reviewing electrical systems for operability, maintainability, reliability, resiliency, and compliance with client operational standards. This is a hands-on, client-facing technical role focused on electrical system performance, operational risk, procedure development, commissioning support, and operational readiness. The role requires strong technical writing, communication, and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to develop, review, and validate Standard Operating Procedures, Emergency Operating Procedures, and Methods of Procedure. RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide technical expertise for critical data center electrical systems, including utility service, medium-voltage distribution, high-voltage and low-voltage switchgear, transformers, UPS systems, static transfer switches, automatic transfer switches, power distribution units, remote power panels, busway systems, emergency generators, generator paralleling systems, battery energy storage systems, grounding and bonding systems, protective relaying, and power monitoring systems. • Review electrical designs, commissioning reports, test procedures, and technical documentation for operability, maintainability, reliability, resiliency, and alignment with client operational standards. • Participate in design reviews, constructability reviews, commissioning reviews, operational readiness assessments, technical workshops, and project meetings. • Evaluate electrical infrastructure, system performance, operational risks, redundancy, maintenance strategies, and reliability requirements across mission-critical environments. • Develop, review, edit, and validate Standard Operating Procedures, Emergency Operating Procedures, and Methods of Procedure in alignment with client standards and industry best practices. • Conduct technical procedure reviews to confirm operational accuracy, risk mitigation, maintainability, and safe execution. • Facilitate procedure validation exercises, tabletop reviews, change management reviews, and operational governance activities. • Support commissioning and operational acceptance by verifying that electrical systems operate in accordance with design intent and client reliability objectives. • Prepare clear and technically accurate documentation, including engineering reports, risk assessments, operating procedures, technical evaluations, and operational readiness documentation. • Serve as a trusted technical advisor to clients and coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering, commissioning, construction, operations, contractor, and stakeholder teams. • Support business development activities by providing technical expertise during client engagements, as required. • Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline. • Minimum 10 years of electrical engineering, commissioning, operations, mission-critical engineering, or related technical experience. • Minimum 5 years of direct experience in mission-critical or data center environments. • Experience in one or more of the following areas: data center electrical design, electrical commissioning, critical facility operations, or mission-critical engineering. • Strong understanding of electrical infrastructure supporting critical facilities, including power distribution, backup power, electrical protection, monitoring, and critical environment systems. • Demonstrated experience developing, reviewing, editing, or validating SOPs, EOPs, and MOPs. • Strong understanding of critical environment operational practices, including change management, permit-to-work systems, lockout/tagout, energized electrical work procedures, switching procedures, risk assessments, incident response, root cause analysis, preventive maintenance, reliability-centered maintenance, and continuous improvement practices. • Working knowledge of mission-critical industry standards, codes, and operational best practices, including ASHRAE, NFPA, ISO, IEC, Uptime Institute Tier Standards, TIA-942, BICSI, applicable international building, fire, energy, and local authority requirements. • Ability to interpret engineering standards and apply them to real-world data center design, commissioning, operations, maintenance, operational readiness, and emergency response. • Excellent technical writing, documentation, reporting, communication, and presentation skills. • Ability to work effectively with clients, contractors, consultants, commissioning teams, operations teams, and multidisciplinary project stakeholders. • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, organization, time management, technical leadership, and stakeholder management skills. • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required. Preferred qualifications: • Direct experience supporting hyperscale data centers such as AWS, Google, Microsoft, Meta, Oracle, or similar environments. • Experience supporting colocation providers such as QTS, Equinix, Digital Realty, Compass Datacenters, Vantage, Aligned, STACK Infrastructure, CyrusOne, or similar operators. • Direct experience supporting mission-critical facilities in Saudi Arabia or the broader GCC region. • Professional Engineer license, Chartered Engineer status, or equivalent professional registration. • Experience serving as a Commissioning Authority, Owner s Engineer, or Owner s Representative. • Minimum 5 years of project or program management experience leading complex multidisciplinary projects. • Experience supporting operational readiness, commissioning, quality assurance, facility operations, technical consulting, or client advisory programs in mission-critical environments.
