Control Room Operator - Power Generation

Opportunity for Control Room OperatorOperations Department \| All Areas Reports To: Shift Supervisor Department: Operations Working Hours: Shift work Travel Requirement: Less than 10% annually MAIN PURPOSE OF THE POSITION To oversee plant operations from the control room, ensuring systems function correctly and providing expert operational support for daily activities. QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK EXPERIENCE Formal Qualifications / Education: * High School Diploma or equivalent (essential) * Technical certification in process control, power plant operations, or a related field (preferred) * Bachelor's degree in engineering or technology (preferred, not mandatory) Work Experience: * 5\+ years of experience in industrial operations, gasification, power generation, or related industries (essential) * Gasification: Experience with gasification processes, Acid Recovery unit, Hydrogen Recovery units, sulfur recovery units, or Soot Ash removal unit (preferred) * Power Block: Experience in power generation, gas combined cycle, and electrical distribution networks (preferred) * Utilities \& ASU: Experience with seawater desalination, RO, water treatment systems, or Air Separation Units (preferred) * Piperack \& CC: Experience in battery\-limit pipeline coordination among process units, including safe access for inspection and maintenance (preferred) JOB\-RELATED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS * Understanding of process control systems and instrumentation * Awareness of safety protocols and regulatory compliance in industrial settings * Familiarity with industrial operations, gasification, or power generation concepts * Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures * Expertise in field operation troubleshooting and optimizing plant performance * Strong communication and teamwork skills * Basic troubleshooting and problem\-solving abilities in DCS * Ability to interpret operational data and respond to trends * Basic computer literacy for system monitoring and data logging INTERESTED? 1\.
