Consultant - Geophysicist (Prospect Evaluation)

**Key Responsibilities** * Advise on seismic acquisition, processing, interpretation, and related exploration activities. * Prepare, design, and plan **2D/3D seismic acquisition programs**, optimizing survey design with consideration of cost, data quality, and exploration risk. * Recommend suitable geophysical techniques for specific exploration targets. * Advise on seismic data processing workflows and perform quality control of both acquired and processed seismic data. * Review and validate final seismic volumes prior to interpretation and modeling. * Provide advice on **Quantitative Interpretation and Reservoir Prediction**. * Support manpower planning for technical knowledge and skills development. * Support effective utilization of available resources to achieve exploration targets. * Participate in program formulation, validation, establishment, and execution. * Provide expert advice on subsurface risks, opportunities, and uncertainties. * Advise on budget requirements for exploration programs. * Recommend optimal drilling locations, development strategies, and exploration approaches. * Translate complex geophysical data into actionable technical and business decisions. * Work closely with E\&P companies, technology developers, and research institutes to assess the technical and commercial viability of exploration challenges and opportunities. * Advise on exploration strategies, data acquisition, and seismic processing activities. **Minimum Requirements** * Master’s degree in **Geoscience or Engineering**; PhD preferred. * Minimum **20\+ years of professional upstream experience** in E\&P research and development activities. * Strong knowledge and experience in seismic acquisition, processing, and interpretation. * Ability to optimize seismic survey design based on cost, data quality, and exploration risk. * Strong seismic interpretation capability covering **horizons, faults, and stratigraphy** for subsurface framework development. * Proven experience in program development, prospect evaluation, and multidisciplinary integration. * Experience with advanced seismic analysis techniques including **AVO/AVA, inversion, and rock physics** for seismic reservoir characterization. * Ability to assess geohazards such as faults, overpressure, instability, and drilling risks. * Experience integrating seismic data with **well logs, core data, and petrophysical interpretation**. * Strong teamwork, leadership, strategic thinking, problem\-solving, communication, organization, flexibility, and multitasking skills. * Ability to manage the geophysical components of exploration and development projects. * Experience supporting training and capability development of national staff. **Education \& Experience** * Master’s degree in **Geoscience / Geology / Geophysics**; PhD preferred. * **20\+ years of demonstrable international upstream experience** with large and small international E\&P companies and ideally research institutes. * Middle East experience is considered beneficial. **Key Competencies** * Analytical and problem\-solving capability * Knowledge and utilization of G\&G software * Machine learning, including fault detection and facies classification * Awareness of evolving geophysical methods * Clear understanding of the relevant project * Resilient * Creative * Strong execution capability **Technical Competencies** * Innovation * Seismic acquisition, processing, and interpretation * Experience in **Middle East carbonate reservoirs** * Knowledge of **Kuwait petroleum systems, particularly Jurassic\-Cretaceous** * Familiarity with **AI/ML workflows in G\&G interpretation** * Multiple academic publications in recognized trade journals Work Location: In person
