Consultant - Geophysicist (Exploration Geophysics)

**Purpose \& Scope** Advise Geophysicists and Technicians according to assignments and perform or direct geophysical projects and studies as required. **Key Responsibilities** * Advise and supervise the activities of assigned geophysical personnel. * Guide geophysicists engaged in technical assignments and team projects, ensuring correct methods and procedures are used and work priorities are properly allocated. * Conduct and guide exploration and appraisal projects using modern geophysical methods. * Identify and recommend suitable locations for exploration and appraisal wells and prepare detailed plans for further activities. * Organize and supervise the geophysical aspects of detailed exploration studies. * Apply appropriate analytical techniques and computer\-based geophysical technologies as required. * Utilize geophysical software and applications independently and support other team members in their use. * Review and evaluate geophysical study reports prepared by subordinate geophysicists and ensure final reports are accurate and complete. * Support geological model development by providing geophysical parameters for play and prospect assessment. * Provide geophysical data for sedimentary basin analysis aimed at identifying hydrocarbon accumulations. * Construct and integrate stratigraphic and structural maps, seismic sections, and other geophysical datasets to generate geological and geophysical leads for new discoveries. * Work with geologists on paleostructural evolution, paleogeomorphic settings, depositional environments, facies patterns, and tectonic cycles. * Integrate subsurface geological and geophysical data to reconstruct regional stratigraphic frameworks across Kuwait. * Identify subtle traps and exploration plays and generate new drillable prospects. * Develop short\- and long\-term exploration strategies, conduct feasibility studies, prepare exploration budgets, and support planning and prioritization of exploration activities. * Evaluate hydrocarbon potential of prospects and underdeveloped reservoirs. * Prepare specialized reports and maintain geophysical records. **Independence of Operation \& Accountability** * Report to the assigned Team Leader. * Determine work methods in accordance with broad directives and professional G\&G standards. * Consult with supervisors on major policy\-related issues. * Be accountable for the accuracy of geophysical data, reports, and analyses and ensure timely completion of assigned work. **Minimum Requirements** * **MSc in Geophysics / Geology / Exploration Geology / Geosciences.** * Minimum **20\+ years of experience in exploration and production geophysics**. * Demonstrable experience leading multidisciplinary teams composed of geologists, geophysicists, geochemists, petroleum engineers, and reservoir engineers. * International experience with E\&P companies. * Strong teamwork, leadership, strategic thinking, problem\-solving, communication, organization, flexibility, creativity, and multitasking skills. * Experience in **Triassic–Paleozoic formations**, preferably within the region, is considered an added advantage. * Strong background in **exploration geophysics**, including exposure to: * geophysical acquisition; * geophysical processing; * seismic reservoir characterization.
