Computer Faculty - College

To deliver high\-quality instruction in Computer Science and Information Technology courses, facilitate student learning through innovative teaching and applied technology, and contribute to curriculum development, academic advising, research, and institutional service. The faculty member is responsible for preparing students with the theoretical knowledge, technical skills, critical thinking abilities, and professional competencies required for successful careers and further studies in computing\-related fields while supporting the college's academic excellence and strategic objectives. This role promotes an engaging learning environment, integrates emerging technologies and industry best practices into teaching, and actively participates in academic, research, and community engagement initiatives to enhance student success and program effectiveness. **Key Responsibilities** * Maintain a high degree of curriculum\-instruction\-assessment congruence and contribute to the evaluation and development of curriculum as requested * Help students build critical thinking, time management, and teamwork skills so that they gain important life skills * In cooperation with colleagues teaching the same and similar material, prepare short and long\-term integrated plans that reflect learning objectives and student ability, and which incorporate a variety of instructional strategies and engaging learning activities, including technology * Organize and maintain a neat and attractive classroom to enhance the learning environment * Help select books and other learning resources for the classroom and the library * Coordinate with library, administrative, IT, and maintenance staff for needed services * Communicate clear expectations regarding respectful standards of behavior, hold students * accountable, and apply consistent and fair consequences * Communicate clear expectations of criteria for assessment of learning achievement; use * formative and summative assessment strategies to support student learning; use information obtained from assessments to improve instructional strategies and activities * Identify individual students’ learning needs and adjust instructional strategies as appropriate * Provide frequent and constructive feedback to students; write progress report comments and submit grades as required * Train tutors and coordinate their work with that being taught in class * Track student attendance to ensure that required course attendance is achieved; report absences and tardies as required * Help coordinate relevant academic activities, such as field trips, competitions, etc. to provide learning enrichment * Participate in professional development activities and keep abreast of developments in subject matter area * Participate in self\-assessment activities and integrate evaluation feedback from administrators into planning to improve teaching performance * Conduct workshops or presentations to share expertise and information from professional * development activities * Assist the Admissions Officer in admission/placement testing of students, including conduct of individual interviews, as assigned * Assist with and participate in student orientation sessions, ceremonies and other official activities as requested * Attend faculty meetings and other required meetings, and serve on committees as requested * Other reasonable tasks as assigned by supervisor **Minimum Qualifications** * Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or other relevant field 2\+ years of experience teaching at the adult college level, ideally with Middle Eastern students in an intensive English program format * Strong interpersonal communication and negotiation skills * Strong organization, planning, and time management skills * Excellent writing skills with the ability to draft and edit a variety of written reports and communications and to articulate ideas clearly and concisely; Arabic proficiency an advantage * Proficiency in MS Office applications and familiarity with curriculum management and learning management applications Pay: QAR15,000\.00 \- QAR18,000\.00 per month Work Location: In person
