Job description

• Conduct comprehensive market analysis to identify potential tendering opportunities and assess competition within the industry. • Prepare and manage tender documentation, including pricing schedules, technical submissions, and compliance statements, ensuring accuracy and completeness. • Collaborate with engineering and operations, procurement, and project management teams to gather essential data for competitive and compelling bids. • Develop cost estimates by analyzing project requirements, labor, materials, and overhead costs, ensuring financial viability and competitiveness. • Reviewing incoming RFQs, working out the scope, and deciding how we bid. • Putting together the technical and commercial proposals. • Pitching the bid strategy to management and adjusting it when you get feedback. • Flagging the technical, commercial, and HSE risks on each tender and dealing with them. • Handling tender clarifications and supporting the Contracts/Legal team through negotiations. Chasing clients for award decisions and logging what they tell us. • Handing the job over cleanly to the project team once we win it. • 5 to 7 years in-the-field offshore construction experience. Office-only experience will not qualify. • Hands-on knowledge of subsea work: risers, spool pieces, cables, umbilicals, SSIVs, sleepers, mattresses, grout bags, done by air or sat divers and/or ROV off a DP2 DSV, cable lay, or construction support vessel. • A science degree. A project management or engineering qualification helps. • A grasp of subsea cranes, diver tooling (bolt tensioning, rigging, spool installation), and ROV tooling for IMR and installation. • Familiarity with contracts (BIMCO and oil company bespoke / Tier 1 subcontracts), risk assessment, and pricing. • Office 365 and MS Project. • Good written and spoken English. French, Italian, or Arabic is a bonus. • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus. • Professional certifications such as Certified Cost Professional (CCP) or similar credentials are highly desirable. • Experience in international projects or exposure to various regulatory environments is an advantage. Tendering Engineer works with the Commercial team. The job suits someone who has spent real time offshore and now wants to move into the commercial side. You will take incoming RFQs and turn them into technical and commercial bids across our diving, ROV, survey, and offshore construction work. You will report to the Director of Commercial Construction and work day to day with Business Development, Operations, Technical, Legal, and the Project Management team.
