Clinical Resource Nurse Emergency Department

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Maintain high visibility in the assigned area(s) (90% clinical presence). - Ensure nursing staff comply with hospital infection control and safety protocols; act as a role model for best practices in upholding standards related to infection control and patient safety. - Develop educational strategies to address performance gaps in collaboration with Nursing Education and the Nurse Manager. - Ensure staff are educated on and comply with hospital policies to support safe patient care. - Act as a resource, mentor, coach, and role model in promoting evidence-based practice. - Work at the bedside with nursing staff and students for a minimum of thirty (30) hours per week to validate consistent application of skills and knowledge, ensuring adherence to quality assurance standards. - Actively participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of unit-based orientation and competency assessments. - Assist with the development and revision of policies and procedures, as required. - Demonstrate clinical competence in managing deteriorating patients. - Coordinate mandatory unit-specific competencies and privileges. Assist in assessing and validating the clinical knowledge and competencies of staff, students, and interns, and escalate performance issues to the Nurse Manager as necessary. - Coordinate and participate in unit-based mock drills, debriefs, and follow-up actions. Engage in briefing/debriefing sessions related to code events, mortality/morbidity reviews, and patient-staff conflict resolutions. - Assist in developing and monitoring clinical indicators in the assigned area, and provide performance feedback to nursing staff accordingly. - Identify and assess the learning needs of nursing staff and students, and assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating skills development programs in coordination with the Nurse Manager, Nurse Educator, and university faculty. - Act as a resource, mentor, and coach to nursing staff and students in the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based patient care. Deliver training programs as needed. - Assist in the implementation of professional development plans related to staff, student, and intern performance, and maintain timely and accurate documentation. - Contribute to the development and execution of quality improvement initiatives, accreditation processes, and patient safety activities. - Comply with specific duties related to specialized units, as outlined in the addendum provided by the supervisor. This addendum must be signed by the employee and filed in their personnel file alongside this job description. - Participate in the development and delivery of educational activities under the supervision of Nursing Education. - Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Bachelor Degree in Nursing or equivalent from an accredited institution. Current registration as a professional registered nurse. Specific Certification as required in area of assignment/education. Eligible for registration with Saudi Commission for Health Specialties. Minimum of 5 (five) years current clinical nursing experience following licensure/ registration in the country of origin with basic leadership experience
