Job description
• Conduct inspections of civil construction activities, including excavation, backfilling, foundations, reinforced concrete works, structural concrete, underground utilities, paving, roads, drainage systems, and finishing works.
• Ensure all construction activities comply with Standards, project specifications, approved drawings, method statements, and quality requirements.
• Review Inspection Requests (IRs), Material Inspection Requests (MIRs), and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) submitted by contractors.
• Witness and verify field and laboratory testing for concrete, soil compaction, reinforcement, asphalt, grout, and other construction materials.
• Verify that construction materials comply with approved material submittals and project specifications.
• Monitor contractor workmanship and identify quality deficiencies, issuing observations or Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) when required.
• Ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented and verified before work proceeds.
• Coordinate with QA/QC Engineers, Construction Engineers, HSE personnel, surveyors, consultants, and other party's representatives during inspections.
• Verify survey reports, levels, alignment, dimensions, and construction tolerances.
• Review and maintain inspection records, daily reports, test reports, and quality documentation.
• Participate in mechanical completion, punch listing, pre-commissioning inspections, and final acceptance activities.
• Ensure all works are executed in compliance with ADNOC HSE requirements and safe work practices.
• ADNOC Approval as a Civil Inspector is advantageous.
• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent engineering discipline.
• Additional certifications in QA/QC, Concrete Inspection, ISO 9001, or equivalent are advantageous.
• HSE certifications such as OSHA, IOSH, or NEBOSH are preferred.
• Minimum 5–10 years of experience in civil construction inspection within the oil and gas, petrochemical, refinery, or industrial sectors.
• Experience working on ADNOC projects or with major EPC contractors in the UAE.
• Proven experience in reinforced concrete structures, underground utilities, foundations, steel structures, roads, drainage, and industrial infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of quality management systems and construction inspection procedures.
Technical Knowledge
• ADNOC Engineering Standards and Specifications.
• International standards including ASTM, ACI, BS, EN, ISO, and applicable local regulations.
• Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
• Material Receiving Inspection (MRI).
• Concrete inspection and testing procedures.
• Soil compaction and earthwork inspection.
• Reinforcement inspection.
• Survey verification and dimensional control.
• QA/QC documentation, NCR management, and punch list closure.
