Civil Engineering Director

Job Summary: Responsible for providing strategic and technical leadership for civil engineering projects, ensuring the successful delivery of infrastructure, building, and development projects in accordance with engineering standards, budgets, schedules, quality requirements, and regulatory obligations. Key Responsibilities: Lead and oversee civil engineering operations, projects, and technical teams. Develop engineering strategies, standards, procedures, and technical guidelines. Manage the planning, design, construction, and completion of civil engineering projects. Review and approve engineering designs, calculations, specifications, and technical reports. Ensure projects comply with building codes, engineering standards, permits, and regulatory requirements. Manage project budgets, schedules, resources, and technical deliverables. Provide technical direction and solutions for complex engineering challenges. Coordinate with architects, contractors, consultants, government agencies, and project stakeholders. Monitor project progress, quality, costs, risks, and performance. Review construction activities and ensure compliance with approved plans and specifications. Identify engineering risks and implement appropriate mitigation and corrective measures. Lead feasibility studies, site assessments, technical evaluations, and project planning activities. Oversee procurement and selection of engineering consultants, contractors, and suppliers. Establish quality assurance and quality control processes for engineering work. Mentor, develop, and evaluate civil engineering personnel. Prepare technical proposals, budgets, reports, and presentations for senior management. Support business development activities, client relationships, and major project opportunities. Promote sustainable, cost\-effective, and innovative engineering solutions. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline. Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent engineering license is typically required. 10\+ years of civil engineering experience, including significant leadership or management experience. Strong knowledge of structural, geotechnical, transportation, water, or infrastructure engineering principles. Extensive experience managing large\-scale engineering and construction projects. Strong knowledge of engineering codes, standards, construction practices, and regulatory requirements. Excellent leadership, project management, negotiation, and communication skills. Strong financial and commercial management abilities. Proficiency in engineering design and project management software. Master’s degree in Engineering or Business Administration is an advantage.
