Chief Operating Officer (COO) – Digital Marketplace Platform

Le Petit Farmer (LPF) is a Qatar\-based digital ecosystem connecting farmers, agricultural suppliers, livestock businesses, service providers, institutional buyers and consumers through one integrated platform. As LPF prepares for launch and expansion, we are seeking a hands\-on Chief Operating Officer to transform our business strategy into efficient, scalable daily operations. Role Summary The COO will oversee LPF’s operational execution across marketplace activities, vendor management, customer experience, logistics coordination, platform operations and internal teams. This is a hands\-on leadership role for someone who can build systems, manage people, control operating costs and ensure that LPF is ready to launch, grow and deliver a reliable experience to its users. Key Responsibilities * Translate LPF’s business strategy into clear operational plans and measurable targets. * Lead platform launch readiness and coordinate priorities across product, technology, sales, marketing and operations. * Establish standard operating procedures, approval processes and accountability systems. * Oversee vendor onboarding, verification, product listing quality and vendor performance. * Manage marketplace operations, customer support, order fulfilment and logistics coordination. * Support the operation of LPF services, RFQs, auctions, tenders, jobs and other platform modules. * Develop KPIs and executive dashboards covering vendor acquisition, transactions, fulfilment, service quality and customer satisfaction. * Monitor operating expenses, commissions, margins and departmental budgets. * Identify process gaps, reduce operational waste and improve team productivity. * Recruit, manage and develop operational teams as the company grows. * Work with the technical team to prioritize platform improvements based on business and user requirements. * Maintain strong relationships with vendors, logistics providers, corporate clients and strategic partners. * Ensure compliance with relevant Qatar regulations, commercial requirements and internal policies. * Provide regular operational and performance reports to the CEO. Requirements * Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Technology or a related field; MBA is an advantage. * Minimum 8–12 years of relevant experience, including at least 4 years in a senior leadership position. * Experience in e\-commerce, marketplaces, logistics, retail, agriculture, food supply or technology\-enabled businesses. * Proven experience launching, scaling or restructuring business operations. * Strong understanding of budgets, unit economics, operational KPIs and performance management. * Ability to manage cross\-functional teams and multiple business priorities. * Strong commercial judgment, negotiation and problem\-solving skills. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Familiarity with the Qatar or GCC market is strongly preferred. * Fluency in English is required; Arabic is a strong advantage. * Must be based in Qatar or willing to relocate. Preferred Candidate Profile * Strategic enough to support executive decisions, but practical enough to manage day\-to\-day execution. * Comfortable working in a fast\-moving start\-up environment. * Experienced in building processes and teams from the ground up. * Commercially focused, data\-driven and cost\-conscious. * Familiar with vendor marketplaces, procurement, fulfilment and customer experience.
