Job description

**Job Description:** Chief accountant includes overseeing the accounting department, developing financial strategies, making investment decisions, helping company leadership with strategic planning, and making sure the company complies with the financial regulations. **Responsibilities:** * Oversee the operations of all accounting functions, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Treasury, Fixed Assets, month\-end accruals, and provisions. * Responsible for year\-end and month\-end closing and the preparation of monthly financial statements. * Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year\-end management financial reports. * Review and approve all payment transactions, including reimbursements, payments on account, vouchers, checks, etc. * Handle year\-end closing and monthly financial statements. * Liaise with external government institutions and act as the main contact for internal and external audits. * Respond to all queries related to financial matters. * Recommend and draft financial and accounting policies and procedures. * Maintain the accounting manual up to date and ensure adherence to the manual and all policies and procedures. * Review and approve journal vouchers. * Review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports. * Coordinate the accurate and timely payment of suppliers. * Prepare yearly budgets. * Administer all balance sheet account reconciliations. * Act as the point of contact for queries related to employee and supplier payments. * Review accounts payable and weekly check runs. * Determine the proper handling of financial transactions and approve transactions within designated limits. * Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to general ledger accounts, cost centers, and documents for business transactions. * Responsible for distributing financial statements and cost center reports. Perform miscellaneous job\-related duties as assigned. * **Requirements** * Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field. * Minimum 7 years of experience, with at least 2 years at the supervisory level. Background in Logistics or IT is preferred. * Experience in creating budgets, accounting guidelines, year\-end accounts, and liaising with external auditors. * Proficiency in Arabic and English is required, both spoken and written. * Very good user of ERP systems. Key Skills \& Core Competencies* Judgment and decision\-making. * Critical thinking. * Manage the financial reporting, consolidation, and financial analysis processes to ensure that the company’s financial information is accurate, methodical, timely, and meets business needs. * Advise top\-level management on finance, management, staffing, and other service\-related issues and procedures. * Direct the company’s end\-to\-end financial processes, including annual work plans, biannual business forecasts, and actual results. * Lead and direct the organization’s financial planning, including business operations and forecasting financial results. * Collaborate with Business Development activities to develop financial models for sales and marketing initiatives and pricing strategies.
