**Business Intelligence – Job Description** =========================================== **Job Title** ------------- **Business Intelligence (BI) Developer / Consultant** **Role Overview** ----------------- We are looking for a **Business Intelligence professional** responsible for designing, developing, and implementing BI solutions that support executive decision\-making, operational monitoring, performance management, and data\-driven business insights. The role will involve translating business and reporting requirements into **KPI frameworks, dashboards, reports, analytical models, and data visualization solutions**. The BI professional will work closely with business stakeholders, Business Analysts, Data Engineers, Data Architects, and Data Governance teams to ensure that BI solutions deliver accurate, meaningful, and actionable insights. **Key Responsibilities** ------------------------ * Gather, analyse, and translate business and reporting requirements into effective **BI solutions**. * Design and develop **executive dashboards, KPI scorecards, operational dashboards, and management reports**. * Develop **KPI and Data Quality reporting solutions** to support performance monitoring and decision\-making. * Define and implement approved **KPIs, measures, calculations, business rules, dimensions, and reporting logic**. * Develop interactive dashboards with appropriate filters, drill\-downs, navigation, and analytical views. * Perform data analysis to identify **trends, patterns, anomalies, performance gaps, and business insights**. * Develop and maintain **semantic, logical, and analytical data models** for BI reporting. * Work with data engineering teams to ensure the availability, quality, and suitability of data required for BI solutions. * Develop reports and dashboards using enterprise BI and visualization platforms such as **Power BI, Tableau, SAP BusinessObjects, or equivalent tools**. * Write and optimize **SQL queries** to extract, transform, validate, and analyse data. * Develop calculated measures, KPIs, and analytical logic using appropriate BI technologies. * Validate dashboard and report results against source data and approved business requirements. * Perform data profiling and data quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency of BI outputs. * Optimize dashboard and report performance through efficient **data modelling, query optimization, calculations, and data refresh strategies**. * Support integration of BI solutions with enterprise data warehouses, databases, cloud platforms, and other data sources. * Work with stakeholders to review dashboards, reports, KPIs, and analytical outputs and incorporate approved feedback. * Conduct dashboard and report testing and support **User Acceptance Testing (UAT)**. * Deploy and publish BI reports and dashboards to appropriate environments. * Maintain BI solution documentation, including data sources, mappings, KPIs, calculations, business rules, and reporting specifications. * Support BI governance through appropriate access controls, security, metadata management, and reporting standards. * Provide ad\-hoc analysis and reporting to support management and business decision\-making. * Continuously improve BI solutions based on changing business requirements and analytical needs. **Required Skills \& Qualifications** ------------------------------------- * Bachelor’s degree in **Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field**. * **4–8 years of experience** in Business Intelligence, BI Development, Data Analytics, Reporting, or a related role. * Strong hands\-on experience in **Power BI, Tableau, SAP BusinessObjects, or equivalent BI platforms**. * Strong understanding of **KPI development, dashboard design, reporting, data analysis, and business intelligence concepts**. * Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases. * Experience with **data modelling**, including logical, physical, dimensional, or semantic models. * Experience translating business requirements into reports, dashboards, KPIs, and analytical solutions. * Experience working with multiple data sources and integrating data for BI reporting. * Strong understanding of data quality, data validation, and data reconciliation. * Strong analytical and problem\-solving skills. * Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. **Preferred Skills** -------------------- * Advanced **Power BI** experience, including DAX, Power Query, data modelling, and dashboard development. * Experience with **Tableau, SAP BusinessObjects, SAP Analytics Cloud, QlikView, MicroStrategy**, or similar BI platforms. * Strong SQL and experience with **SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, SAP HANA**, or similar databases. * Experience with ETL/data integration technologies such as **SSIS, Informatica, Talend, Azure Data Factory**, or equivalent. * Knowledge of cloud and modern data platforms such as **Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, Databricks, Snowflake, or equivalent technologies**. * Understanding of **Data Governance, Metadata Management, Data Quality, and Data Management**. * Experience developing **executive scorecards and C\-level reporting**. * Knowledge of advanced analytics, forecasting, trend analysis,
