Job description
Job Summary:
Responsible for managing building inspection operations, ensuring that construction and building activities comply with approved plans, building codes, safety regulations, and applicable standards. The role supervises inspectors, reviews inspection findings, and coordinates with contractors, engineers, property owners, and regulatory authorities.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee daily building inspection activities and schedules.
Supervise, train, and evaluate building inspectors and technical staff.
Review building plans, permits, specifications, and technical documents.
Conduct or oversee inspections of structural, architectural, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and safety components as applicable.
Ensure construction work complies with approved plans, building codes, permits, and regulations.
Identify construction deficiencies, safety hazards, and code violations.
Prepare and review inspection reports, violation notices, and compliance documentation.
Coordinate follow\-up inspections and monitor corrective actions.
Work closely with contractors, developers, architects, engineers, property owners, and government agencies.
Investigate building complaints, structural concerns, and potential code violations.
Ensure inspection records, permits, and project documentation are accurate and properly maintained.
Develop inspection procedures, checklists, quality standards, and operational guidelines.
Monitor inspection workloads, schedules, resources, and departmental performance.
Provide technical guidance on building codes, construction standards, and compliance requirements.
Participate in project meetings, site assessments, and construction progress reviews.
Support permit approval, occupancy certification, and project closeout processes.
Prepare management reports, inspection statistics, and recommendations for process improvements.
Promote consistent, fair, and professional enforcement of building and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Building Science, or a related field.
5\+ years of experience in building inspection, construction, engineering, or regulatory compliance, including supervisory experience.
Strong knowledge of building codes, construction methods, safety standards, and inspection procedures.
Professional engineering, architectural, or building inspection certification is an advantage.
Strong leadership, analytical, and problem\-solving skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Ability to interpret construction drawings, plans, specifications, and technical documents.
Strong attention to detail and report\-writing skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant inspection or permit management systems.
Pay: RO1,350\.000 per month
