Beach Combing Machine Operator

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Beach Combing Machine Operator (License # 8) to support beach cleaning and maintenance operations. The Beach Combing Machine Operator is responsible for operating specialized beach-cleaning and sand-screening equipment to remove litter, debris, seaweed, and other unwanted materials from beaches and waterfront areas. The role ensures beaches remain clean, safe, environmentally compliant, and attractive for public use and tourism. The responisibilities will include but not limited to: • Operate beach combing, sand cleaning, and beach grooming machinery safely and efficiently. • Conduct daily inspections of equipment before and after operation. • Remove litter, seaweed, driftwood, glass, plastic, and other debris from beach areas. • Screen and groom sand surfaces to maintain cleanliness and appearance. • Monitor machine performance and report mechanical issues promptly. • Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs as required. • Follow designated cleaning routes and schedules. • Ensure safe operation around beach users. • Maintain operational records, inspection checklists, and maintenance logs. • Assist with beach maintenance activities during special events or emergency situations. • Adhere to all environmental, health, and safety regulations. • High school diploma or equivalent. • Experience operating tractors, sweepers, beach cleaners, or similar heavy equipment preferred. • Basic mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills. • Valid driver's License # 8 (commercial/heavy vehicle license may be required depending on equipment type). Working Conditions • Outdoor beach and coastal environments. • Exposure to heat, sunlight, humidity, wind, and saltwater conditions. • Early morning, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts may be required to minimize disruption to beach users.
