**Job Description: Barista cum Cashier (Specialty Coffee Shop \& Café Concept)** **Position Summary** The Barista cum Cashier is responsible for preparing high\-quality coffee and beverages while providing excellent customer service and accurately managing cashier operations. The role ensures beverage consistency, order accuracy, smooth payment processing, and compliance with company standards for service, hygiene, and café operations. The ideal candidate must have experience in specialty coffee, café, or restaurant operations with strong knowledge of beverage preparation, POS systems, cash handling, and customer service. **Key Responsibilities** **Barista Operations** * Prepare coffee and beverage products according to company recipes and quality standards. * Produce: * Espresso\-based beverages * Hot and iced coffee * Signature drinks * Non\-coffee beverages * Tea\-based beverages * Smoothies and other café drinks * Perform espresso calibration and maintain beverage consistency. * Ensure proper coffee extraction, milk steaming, and beverage presentation. * Follow beverage recipes, portion control, and preparation procedures. **Cashier Operations** * Handle customer orders through POS system accurately. * Process cash, card, and digital payments. * Issue receipts and ensure transaction accuracy. * Maintain proper cash handling procedures. * Perform cash counting and shift handover reconciliation. * Report any payment discrepancies immediately. **Customer Service** * Welcome customers and provide professional hospitality. * Explain menu items and recommend beverages or food products. * Handle customer requests and concerns politely. * Ensure a positive customer experience from ordering to service. * Support upselling of beverages, pastries, and café products. **Order Management \& Coordination** * Ensure correct order taking and communication with kitchen/bar teams. * Monitor order accuracy before serving customers. * Coordinate with Front of House and Kitchen teams during busy periods. * Maintain efficient service speed and workflow. **Bar Station Management** * Maintain a clean, organized, and fully prepared bar station. * Complete daily opening and closing bar procedures. * Clean and maintain: * Espresso machines * Grinders * Brewing equipment * Blenders * Bar tools * Follow cleaning schedules and hygiene procedures. **Inventory \& Stock Control Support** * Monitor availability of beverage ingredients and supplies. * Inform supervisors of low\-stock items. * Assist with daily stock arrangement and rotation. * Follow FIFO/FEFO procedures. * Minimize beverage wastage through proper preparation and portion control. **Food Safety \& Hygiene Compliance** * Maintain personal hygiene and grooming standards. * Follow HACCP and food safety procedures. * Ensure proper storage and handling of: * Coffee beans * Milk products * Syrups * Beverage ingredients * Food items * Maintain cleanliness of customer\-facing and work areas. **Required Qualifications** * Minimum **1–3 years of experience** as a Barista, Cashier, or Café Crew member. * Experience in: * Specialty coffee shops * Cafés * Bakeries * Restaurants * Hospitality operations * Barista training or certification is preferred. **Mandatory Knowledge \& SkillsCoffee \& Beverage Knowledge** * Basic understanding of specialty coffee. * Espresso preparation and extraction. * Grinder adjustment and basic calibration. * Milk steaming techniques. * Beverage recipes and presentation standards. * Knowledge of café menu items and ingredients. **Cashier \& POS Knowledge (Mandatory)** Must be knowledgeable in: * POS systems * POS order processing * Payment transactions * Cash handling procedures * Daily sales closing procedures * Basic sales reporting Ability to: * Enter orders accurately. * Process refunds or corrections based on company procedures. * Handle multiple transactions during peak hours. **Customer Service Skills** * Strong communication skills. * Friendly and professional
