Auto Mechanic

Job Summary The Car Auto Mechanic at a renowned Taxi Company, is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining passenger vehicles to ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability. The role involves carrying out preventive maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and ensuring all work is completed in accordance with manufacturer standards and company quality procedures. Key Responsibilities * Inspect and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults in vehicles. * Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication, and fluid top\-ups. * Repair and replace faulty components such as engines, transmissions, clutches, brakes, suspension, steering, and cooling systems. * Conduct engine tuning, timing belt replacement, and other major mechanical repairs. * Diagnose faults using computerized diagnostic equipment and specialized tools. * Repair and service air conditioning (A/C) systems when required. * Inspect and repair fuel, ignition, and exhaust systems. * Perform wheel alignment, suspension, and brake system inspections and repairs. * Carry out pre\-delivery inspections and final quality checks before vehicle release. * Test\-drive vehicles to verify repairs and ensure customer satisfaction. * Maintain accurate service records and report additional repair requirements. * Ensure proper use and maintenance of workshop tools and equipment. * Follow company policies, manufacturer specifications, and health and safety procedures. * Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment. Qualifications * Diploma, ITI, or Technical Certification in Automobile Engineering or Automotive Mechanics. * Additional certifications from automotive manufacturers are an advantage. Experience * Minimum **3–5 years** of experience as an Auto Mechanic, preferably in the UAE or GCC. * Experience with Japanese, Korean, American, or European vehicles is preferred. Technical Skills * Strong knowledge of automotive mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems. * Proficiency in using vehicle diagnostic scanners and workshop equipment. * Ability to read technical manuals and wiring diagrams. * Knowledge of engine overhaul, transmission repair, and preventive maintenance. * Basic understanding of hybrid vehicle systems is an added advantage. Soft Skills * Strong troubleshooting and problem\-solving abilities. * Good communication and teamwork skills. * Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. * Time management and attention to detail. * Commitment to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction. Working Conditions * Workshop\-based environment with occasional outdoor work. * Ability to lift heavy components and work in physically demanding conditions. * Willingness to work overtime or shifts as required. Preferred Requirements * Valid UAE driving license (preferred). * Familiarity with UAE roadworthiness and vehicle safety standards. * Experience working in dealership or multi\-brand automotive service centers is an advantage.
