**Job Description:** Autism Therapist**Workplace:** Alia Autism Center **Salary:** BHD 250 per month **Reports to:** Special Education Teacher / Program Supervisor **Job Purpose:** The Autism Therapist provides direct educational, behavioural, communication, and daily\-living support to children and young people with autism and other developmental needs. The therapist works under the guidance of teachers, therapists, and supervisors to implement each student’s individual program. **Key Responsibilities:*** Deliver individual and small\-group intervention sessions. * Implement students’ Individualized Education Plans and therapy programs. * Support the development of communication, social, academic, play, self\-help, and daily\-living skills. * Apply approved behaviour\-support strategies consistently and safely. * Use visual schedules, communication systems, reinforcement, prompting, and other approved teaching methods. * Record accurate data on student performance, behaviour, and progress. * Prepare learning materials and organize the therapy environment before each session. * Support students during classroom activities, transitions, meals, toileting, play, and community activities. * Encourage student independence and reduce unnecessary assistance gradually. * Observe students closely and report any concerns about their learning, behaviour, health, or safety. * Communicate professionally with teachers, therapists, supervisors, and other team members. * Attend staff meetings, training sessions, case reviews, and center activities. * Maintain confidentiality and respect students’ dignity and privacy. * Follow all safeguarding, health and safety, behaviour\-support, infection\-control, and emergency procedures. * Carry out other reasonable duties assigned by the supervisor or management. **Qualifications and Experience:*** Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Special Education, Education, Child Development, Social Work, or a related field is preferred. * Previous experience working with children with autism or additional needs is an advantage. * Knowledge of behaviour\-support methods or Applied Behaviour Analysis is preferred. * Good spoken and written English. Arabic is an advantage. * Basic computer and record\-keeping skills. * Fresh graduates with suitable qualifications and a willingness to complete training may apply. **Required Skills and Personal Qualities:*** Patient, caring, responsible, and dependable. * Able to follow individual programs and professional instructions accurately. * Good observation, communication, and teamwork skills. * Able to remain calm and respond safely during challenging situations. * Willing to receive feedback, training, and regular supervision. * Physically able to support students during daily activities when required. * Committed to protecting the dignity, safety, and welfare of every student. **Safeguarding:** Alia Autism Center is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
