Job description

JOB PURPOSE The investment auditor is responsible for planning, executing and reporting on audits related to OIA s investment activities, with a primary focus on private equity and public markets portfolios. The role evaluates the effectiveness of governance, risk management, internal controls, compliance processes, and operational practices across the investment lifecycle.The auditor will provide independent assurance on investment processes, portfolio management activities, valuation methodologies, investment operations, regulatory compliance and risk management framework. The position requires a strong understanding of investment management, financial instruments and investment related controls. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Review investment identification, due diligence processes (commercial, financial, tax, valuation), financial models, investment committee governance, and transaction closing process. Assess controls over investment monitoring, portfolio performance reporting, and asset management activities. Evaluate valuation methodologies and assumptions for private equity investments. Review compliance with investment mandates, policies, delegated authorities, and related agreements. Assess controls over capital calls, distributions, investment accounting, and performance measurement. Audit portfolio management activities across global and local equities, fixed income, multi-asset, and alternative public market investments. Review the process of preparing market analysis and interpretation of data concerning price, valuation, and future trends of investment instruments. Review the process of screening and due diligence on externally managed strategies. Evaluate compliance with investment guidelines, mandates, risk limits, and regulatory requirements. Review trade execution, portfolio rebalancing, broker management, and best execution practices. Assess controls over portfolio valuation, performance attribution, and investment reporting. Review investment risk management processes, including market, liquidity, concentration, compliance breaches and counterparty risks. Plan and perform risk-based audits covering private equity, public markets, and related investment operations. Conduct audits across the investment lifecycle, including sourcing, due diligence, investment approval, execution, monitoring, valuation, reporting, and exit processes. Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, governance structures, and risk management practices. Develop audit programs, testing procedures, and workpapers in accordance with global internal audit standards and methodologies. Identify control weaknesses, operational inefficiencies, and compliance gaps, and recommend practical improvements. Discuss audit issues with various auditees and investment processes owners while analyzing relevant financial and business impacts to ensure related processes are effectively applied. Prepare the audit reports summarizing the scope and the results of work performed, root causes for control failure and recommendation to mitigate identified risks for communicating to the management. Continuously follow and stay abreast of news related to private equity and public markets to be constantly aware of the changes and fluctuations in the market environment. Comply with the implementation of departmental policies and procedures, to ensure that all relevant procedural and legislative requirements are fulfilled. Comply with all relevant health, safety, and quality requirements, in order to guarantee employee safety and legislative compliance. Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices considering leading best practices , improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement. • Bachelor's Degree Specialization in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or any other relevant field • Professional Qualifications CFA, CMA, CPA, FMVA, FRM, ACCA is desirable • Work Experience 6 to 8 years of related investment experience
