Job description
The Artwork Technician prepares, edits, and verifies artwork files for production, ensuring all designs comply with technical specifications, brand guidelines, and customer requirements. The role involves close collaboration with designers, production teams, and clients to deliver accurate, high-quality artwork.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Prepare, edit, and finalize artwork files for print or digital production.
• Check artwork for accuracy, resolution, dimensions, color profiles, and formatting.
• Ensure artwork complies with customer specifications and company quality standards.
• Make technical adjustments to designs without altering the intended visual appearance.
• Operate industry-standard design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
• Create print-ready files and perform preflight checks before production.
• Coordinate with designers, production staff, and clients to resolve artwork issues.
• Maintain organized records of artwork files and revisions.
• Support continuous improvement of artwork processes and documentation.
• Meet production deadlines while maintaining high accuracy.
• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Printing Technology, Fine Arts, or a related field.
• 2 - 5 years of experience in artwork preparation, graphic design, or packaging artwork.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
• Strong knowledge of prepress and print production processes.
• Understanding of color management (CMYK, RGB, Pantone, ICC profiles).
• Ability to prepare print-ready artwork and perform preflight checks
• Knowledge of file formats such as PDF, AI, EPS, PSD, TIFF, and SVG.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, dielines, and production specifications.
• Attention to Detail: Consistently identifies and corrects errors to ensure high-quality, accurate artwork.
• Accountability: Takes ownership of assigned tasks and delivers work on time and to the required standard.
• Communication Skills: Communicates clearly and effectively with cross-functional teams, clients, and suppliers.
• Teamwork and Collaboration: Works cooperatively with marketing, production, quality, regulatory, and procurement teams.
• Planning and Organization: Prioritizes tasks, manages multiple projects, and meets deadlines.
