Job description
Role & responsibilities Antenna Design & Development Design, develop, and optimize RF and microwave antennas operating from 100 MHz to 60 GHz. Design various antenna types including Patch, Monopole, Dipole, PIFA, Slot, Helical, MIMO, and Antenna Arrays. Develop compact, high-performance antenna solutions with optimized bandwidth, gain, efficiency, and radiation characteristics. Design impedance matching networks and feeding structures to achieve optimum antenna performance. Perform antenna miniaturization and optimize designs to meet product size and performance requirements. Electromagnetic Simulation (HFSS) Perform 3D electromagnetic simulation and modeling using Ansys HFSS. Conduct parametric analysis, optimization, and design validation to achieve target RF specifications. Analyze and optimize: Return Loss (S11) VSWR Input Impedance Bandwidth Radiation Pattern Gain & Directivity Antenna Efficiency Polarization Isolation and Mutual Coupling Evaluate installed antenna performance within complete product assemblies and enclosures. Antenna Measurement & Validation Build and validate antenna prototypes by correlating measurement results with simulation data. Perform RF measurements using Vector Network Analyzers (VNA), Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, and Power Meters. Conduct antenna characterization including radiation pattern, gain, efficiency, bandwidth, and polarization measurements in anechoic chambers or equivalent test environments. Investigate measurement discrepancies and implement design improvements for optimal performance. Antenna Array Design Design and optimize antenna arrays for high-performance wireless communication systems. Develop MIMO and phased-array antenna solutions with improved gain, isolation, and beamforming capabilities. Analyze element spacing, feeding networks, mutual coupling, sidelobe suppression, and overall array performance. Cross-Functional Collaboration Collaborate with RF, PCB, Mechanical, Manufacturing, and Product Engineering teams to integrate antenna designs into final products. Support prototype development, engineering validation, product qualification, and production release. Troubleshoot and resolve antenna-related technical issues throughout the product development lifecycle. Participate in design reviews and coordinate with customers, suppliers, and manufacturing teams to ensure technical requirements are achieved. Optimize antenna designs for manufacturability, reliability, cost-effectiveness, and regulatory compliance. Technical Documentation Prepare antenna design reports, simulation reports, test reports, engineering documentation, datasheets, and manufacturing drawings. Maintain complete design documentation and support product certification and qualification activities.
Educational Qualification B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering, RF Engineering, Microwave Engineering. Electromagnetics, or a related discipline. Experience 3-8 years of hands-on experience in RF and Antenna Design. Proven experience in designing antennas operating across multiple frequency bands. Strong experience using Ansys HFSS for antenna simulation, optimization, and validation is mandatory. Technical Skills Expert proficiency in Ansys HFSS. Experience with CST Studio Suite, Altair FEKO, or Keysight ADS is an added advantage. Strong understanding of: Electromagnetic Theory Maxwell's Equations Antenna Theory RF & Microwave Engineering Transmission Lines Impedance Matching MIMO Antennas Antenna Arrays RF Propagation S-Parameters, VSWR, Return Loss, Gain, and Radiation Patterns Measurement & Validation Hands-on experience with: Vector Network Analyzer (VNA) Spectrum Analyzer Signal Generator Anechoic Chamber Testing Radiation Pattern Measurements Gain, Efficiency, and Polarization Measurements Preferred Domain Experience Experience in antenna development for one or more of the following: 5G / 6G Wireless Communications Wi-Fi & Bluetooth IoT Devices GNSS / GPS Satellite Communication Aerospace & Defense Applications Key Competencies Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent understanding of antenna design methodologies and EM simulation. Ability to independently develop antenna solutions from concept through production. Effective communication and teamwork skills in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
