Job description
• Handle day-to-day accounting activities, including recording, reviewing, and posting accounting entries.
· Maintain complete and accurate books of accounts in accordance with applicable accounting standards and company policies.
· Prepare and post journal entries relating to purchases, sales, expenses, provisions, accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and other transactions.
· Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
· Perform bank, supplier, customer, intercompany, and general ledger reconciliations.
· Verify invoices, supporting documents, approvals, and accounting classifications before posting transactions.
· Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual book closing activities.
· Review ledger balances and identify incorrect postings, unusual entries, and unreconciled differences.
· Maintain schedules for fixed assets, prepaid expenses, accruals, provisions, and other balance-sheet items.
· Support the preparation of trial balance, profit and loss account, balance sheet, and management reports.
· Ensure proper filing and maintenance of accounting records and supporting documents.
· Independently analyse accounting transactions and determine the correct accounting treatment.
· Identify errors and process gaps and recommend appropriate corrective actions.

Required Skills and Competencies
· Strong understanding of accounting principles, journal entries, debit and credit concepts, and financial statements.
· Clear accounting logic and ability to understand the impact of each transaction on the books of accounts.
· Hands-on experience in maintaining books of accounts and posting accounting entries.
· Good knowledge of general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and month-end closing.
· Ability to independently review supporting documents and determine the appropriate ledger and accounting treatment.
· Working knowledge of ERP or accounting software such as Oracle, SAP, Tally, or similar systems.
· Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
· Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
· Ability to work independently and meet reporting deadlines.
· Good communication and coordination skills.
Educational Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional or partly completed accounting qualifications will be an added advantage.
